Tallmadge, Ohio – July 25, 2011 – NZ Manufacturing, Inc., a leader in high-quality resistance training and physical rehabilitation tools, recently received kudos from Mike McDonald, a swim coach for Cuyahoga Falls High School and the six-time YMCA NEO league champion, CFYN-USA Tiger Sharks.
In his dual roles, McDonald has had the opportunity to work with a variety of NZ Manufacturing’s StrechCordz® products. He feels that the tools not only help with specific training, but aid in the development of the overall swimmer. “I use many of NZ Manufacturing’s products designed for swimming, but there are a few that I use on a regular basis. One of those is the Long Belt Slider.” The Long Belt Slider is StrechCordz’s best-selling in-water resistance product. Designed for resisted swim out and speed-assisted swim back exercises, it helps train swimmers to accelerate quicker, strengthen the finishes of each stroke and improve times.
“I use the Long Belt Slider to teach swimmers what it takes to swim faster. The device compels the swimmer to perform a quicker turnover and higher kick cadence,” explains McDonald. “Every swimmer that uses this product gains confidence and performs at a higher level.”
McDonald also utilizes the StrechCordz Stationary Swim Trainer with his athletes. Designed for in-place resistance swim training while using lane lines, the Stationary Swim Trainer stimulates proper hip rotation, which is critical to stroke efficiency. McDonald credits this product with enabling him to break down the components of a stroke and attempt to turn a swimmer’s weakness into a strength. “As a coach, my goal is to have each individual capitalize on correct form,” says McDonald. “With the Stationary Swim Trainer, the kids are able to feel and practice the correction and then apply it within the next set.”
What’s more, McDonald recommends the StrechCordz Short Belt, which he attaches to the wall. His swimmers press off the wall on streamline and fly kick for a set or a period of time. The Short Belt reinforces good streamline and technique. McDonald also cites the Kick Trainer, Stretchcordz, StrechCordz with Leg Strap and the Breaststroke Machine as tools that help him as coach reinforce good technique. They help him convey that the smallest difference can have the largest impact on a swimmer.
StrechCordz are recognized and used by swimmers worldwide, from age groupers to high school and collegiate swimmers to master swimmers and International Olympians. They are the number-one swim training product line worldwide.
